ART SHOW RULES
Welcome to the Conjuration 2001 Science Fiction and Fantasy
Convention Art Show! The following is a listing of rules for
participating in our Art Show and Auction. Conjuration will be held at
the Columbia Best Western Hotel June 15, 16,&17 2001.
At Conjuration we believe that an artist shouldn’t pay to display
their artwork . Therefore, there will be no panel fees at
Conjuration, but we will charge 15% commission on all artwork sold. All
artists attending the convention will be paid by check
on Sunday in the art show. Artists who mail in their art will be paid
by check within 30 days of the convention. Conjuration reserves the
right to withhold any artwork from the show that we deem inappropriate.
Panels are approximately 4' x 8' pegboard, with J-hooks and Bulldog
clips provided. We ask that you reserve your panel space in
advance via the artist reservation form, with the art show director, as
it will be held on a first come first serve basis. Tables are also
available on a limited basis for prints, sculpture or other 3-D art. No
artist may reserve more than 2 panels or 1 table without the prior
approval of the art show manager. Art show reservations will be in
effect till noon on Saturday.
All art entered in the show must be labeled on the back or underside
with the following information- the artist’s name, address, and title
of piece.
Paperwork for the art show( i.e. control sheets, bid sheets and
artist reservation forms) can be obtained either by mail (send request
with SASE to our art show director), via our web page (
http://home1.gte.net/conjure),
or at the art show door. All pieces must be listed on the art show
control sheets-please fill these out legibly and completely. One bid
sheet must be filled out for for each piece entered in the art auction.
Please be specific as to type of medium ( i.e. original, lasercopy,
photoprint ect:). No artwork will be offered for sale without the
requisite paperwork.
The art auction will be held Saturday evening. One bid equal to the
listed auction minimum bid will send a piece to auction. Conjuration
also reserves the right to enter any piece in the auction that we feel
deserves special attention, or to remove a piece from the auction. If,
you choose to attend the convention we highly suggest that you attend
the auction. Artist attendance at the auction has increased artist’s
sales and profits.
MAIL IN ART
If you can not attend the convention, you may mail art to the address
listed herein. Conjuration recommends UPS, or a carrier that requires a
signature for delivery. You will probably need to allow two weeks for
UPS and three weeks for USPS.
Please use sturdy, reusable cartons to mail artwork to Conjuration.
We will not be responsible for items damaged or lost in shipping. The
artist is responsible for sending sufficient funds to cover return
postage and insurance. Be sure to include a label in your parcel for
us to use for return shipping, which includes your full address and zip
code. Any special packing instructions should be taped inside the lid of
your box. Artwork will be returned within 30 days of the convention.
Please be sure to have your mail-in artwork in our hands by June 8,
2001. If we have not received it by this date, or heard from you, we
will assume that you have cancelled and your reservation will go to
someone else.
