This page gives us the chance to
introduce other author and artist guests who are attending Conjuration.
We recommend meeting them - attend a panel that they are on or simply
strike up a conversation with them. It is their presence that makes the
convention experience unique.

Kyle E. (MoonEagle) Smith-Skaggs
An aspiring artist from the Southwest, now living in Missouri. I got my start in art at a very young age. Before entering School I already drew on everything in sight, much to the dismay of my mother.Although she was encouraging, I'm sure the surfaces of my choice was not the most accepted (floors, walls, bathtub, etc.). The point at wich I knew it was my calling was the first time I saw a comic book. From then on I wanted to be such an artist. All of the great comic book artists have influenced me, and other Artists such as Susan Dow Lee, Boris Vallejo, and many more. My love for Fantasy is only surpassed by my love for my wife, kids, and family.
P.C.
Cast
Unfortunately, Ms. Cast has notified us that she will be unable
to attend Conjuration 2001
www.pccast.net
P.C. Cast was born in Watseka, Illinois, and grew up being shuttled
back-and-forth between Illinois and Oklahoma, which is where she fell in
love with Quarter Horses and mythology (at about the same time). After
high school she joined the United States Air Force and began public
speaking and writing. Since her tour in the USAF, she has been speaking
and teaching professionally. Ms. Cast is a dynamic, entertaining orator
and an extraordinary teacher. Her first novel, Goddess by Mistake, will
be released summer 2001. Currently, she lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,
with her husband, her daughter, and her spoiled cat. She is working on
her next novel.
Michales Warwick-Joy
www.myriadchronicles.com
Michales Warwick Joy began writing so long ago and at such a
young age that there has never been anything else. His father taught him
that the dream was beautiful. His mother encouraged and sharpened a
rapidly expanding imagination. And decades would pass. He first saw his
words in print with a self-published collection of stories, The Absolute
Value of Infinity. Despite the amateur publishing quality, nearly every
copy was sold and the reviews were promising (including an incredible
letter from a person who found a copy in a recycling bin years later and
loved it). That led to three stories in the horror comic book Underland
Encounters.
In July 1998, after several years of brutal
mainstream publishing experiences, Michales launched a website devoted
to his writing called The Myriad Chronicles, located at
www.myriadchronicles.com. This online magazine gave his words the chance
to be read by anyone, anywhere. One year later, he published the
collection of twenty-eight stories and twelve essays posted on the
website in a book aptly titled The Myriad Chronicles. Michales has
become a proponent of alternative publishing avenues. The online
magazine, The Myriad Chronicles, was the first step toward publishing
independence. The Myriad Chronicles book is the second.
Thomas
Stratman
(An Autobiography)
I was born (most have suspected otherwise) in the St. Louis Missouri
hospital where the actual Exorcism (of book and movie fame) took place.
The floor (where said exorcism took place, not where I was born)
remained sealed and unused until the building was torn down to make room
for a Schnuck's Grocery Store (you can't make this kind of stuff up).
I went to a Catholic grade school (so I learned to cuss and fight at
an early age) a Catholic high school (so I also lost my virginity early
in life) and a Catholic university (so I spent a lot of money). I
studied
History, Comparative Theology/Mythology, Communications, Theatre,
Meteorology, and several other subject. (so I ended up with 106 semester
hours, no degree and no money). I have since attained a Masters Degree
in Religious Studies.
I enlisted in the U. S. Army because they agreed to pay off my
college loans and help me get a degree (guess what? They lied). I was
trained as an Infantryman (pop-up target), a Paratrooper (yes, I jumped
out of planes on purpose) an Anti-Tank Gunner (these guys have a
single shot weapon and go looking for tanks) and finally Military
Intelligence (I know, I know, it is an oxymoron). Two years later I was
honorably
discharged with a bad knee, a breached contract and about $15,000
dollars in unpaid overdue school loans. (I am still paying on them).
I work (because I am not yet making enough as a professional writer)
as an Office Coordinator and Freelance Troubleshooter/Advisor.
I write (because I have a deep, gut level need to write) Supernatural
Horror. My stories always deal with horrors that could never appear on
CNN. If you want axe murderers with psychological problems read the
newspaper. If you want a glimpse at that which can not be grasped, a
excursion down the unnameable avenues of a reality we suspect may exist
(but hope does not), then my tales just might fit your palate.
I enjoy role-playing games, photography (black and white/Infrared),
researching in big, old libraries and confusing my cat (appropriately
named Trouble).
Emma Sharon Rich
Ever since she wrote her first book at the tender age of five, illustrated with crayon and bound with scotch tape, emma Sharon Rich has had an ongoing love affair with the written word.
Emma Sharon Rich was born in Uppsala, Sweden, and has lived all over the United States, including Milwaukee, Albuquerque, Philadelphia, Oregon, New York, and Missouri. She holds Bachelors degrees in both Speech-Language Pathology/Communicative Disorders and English Literature, has earned a Masters degree in British Renaissance Literature, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Renaissance literature and Shakespeare. She teaches English Composition and literature at the University of Missouri while she writes her novels, and spends her (very rare) free time on her various hobbies: horseback riding, scuba diving, fine wine and dining and watching bad science fiction movies (well, she likes the good ones, too!).

Al Turner
Al Turner, a.k.a. The Mercenary Pen, is an artist specializing in
Science Fiction and Fantasy art, who resides with his Lady Lisa at their
new home in Boonville, Missouri, Al's artistic style reflects his
interest in comic illustration. He is also a swordsman, an archer, and a
modeller of moderate skill. One of his best-known projects was the
construction of a life-size spacecraft interior in his basement. A
life-long martial artist, he practices the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto
Ryu style of Japanese swordsmanship. Another of his passions is
medieval archery, especially the English Longbow. He is the proud father
of three daughters, Kelly, Wendy, and Molly. Kelly and Wendy are well
known at area conventions. Lisa is a practicing Witch and Herbalist,
with strong talents in divination, Reiki, Tarot, and Palmistry. She also
has a background in the martial arts, having studied Taekwondo and
Ju-Jutsu. Al supplies the art, and Lisa supplies the magic! Together,
they make quite a team, so meet them if you can!
Debbi Eastabrooks-Pellicano (LadyElf)
Most people that know the artistic side of me know me as LadyElf. I
was told a long time ago by a friend that "if there are indeed
elves walking the earth, you are one of them". Not sure why, but it
fits me well. My bill paying job is as a website design/developer. I
started out in the computer age building computers and eventually went
into the designing end. Prior to that I had a myriad of jobs, none
related to the other as I was always wanting to try something new and
different to keep myself challenged.
I've always been into the arts in some form or another, whether it
was as a writer or artist. Most of the art that I do comes from
characters in a novel I've been working on for some time now. Anything
in the mystical realm fascinates me, as I truly believe there is a world
that we do not see with our human eyes.... much of my inspiration comes
from there.
If you see me around at the convention, come talk to me! I love
meeting new people and making new friends.
